Vaniprevir (MK-7009) is an orally active HCV NS3/4A protease inhibitor with a Ki of 0.05 nM against genotype 1, 0.9 nM against genotype 2, 0.07 nM against genotype 1a, 0.06 nM against genotype 1b, 1 nM against genotype 2a, and 1.4 nM against genotype 2b. Vaniprevir exhibits high selectivity for human proteases, ion channels, receptors and enzymes. Vaniprevir can be used in research related to chronic hepatitis C and HCV infection[1][2][3][4].
