Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Cys60 of human survivin, conjugated to KLH.
Survivin is a 16kD anti-apoptotic protein highly expressed during fetal development and cancer cell malignancy. By binding and inhibiting caspase-3, survivin controls the checkpoint in the G2/M-phase of the cell cycle by inhibiting apoptosis and promoting cell division. This regulatory process requires the phosphorylation of survivin at Thr34 by p34 cdc2 kinase. Gene targeting using a Thr34 phosphorylation-defective survivin mutant, as well as antisense survivin, has been shown to inhibit tumor growth. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Immunofluorescence (IF-IC): 1:50 Flow Cytometry: 1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Store at 4C. Do Not Freeze. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Fluorochrome conjugates are sensitive to light.
