Full length purified human fibroblast TIMP (Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase).
TIMP-1and TIMP-2 have similar properties, specifically in inhibiting enzymes of matrix metalloproteinase family, and are thought to be of great importance in the maintenance of connective tissue integrity. TIMP-1 forms a complex of 1:1 stoichiometry with activated interstitial collagenase, activated stromelysin, active form of 72kD Type IV collagenase (also known as MMP-2 or gelatinase A), and latent and active forms of 92kD Type IV collagenase (also known as MMP-9 or gelatinase B). TIMPs inhibit the proteolytic invasiveness of tumor cells and normal placental trophoblast cells. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 5-10ug/ml. Recognizes a band at ~28-30kD in reduced samples. Immunohistochemistry: 1ug/section ELISA: 5ug/ml Optimal dilution to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
