| TIMP-2 (Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 2) is a nonglycosylated protein that belongs to the protease inhibitor I35 (TIMP) family. Contains 1 NTR domain, predicted molecular weight 24kD. The mechanisms of TIMPs inhibit angiogenesis appear to be specific for each member of the TIMP family. TIMP-2 binds to the surface of human endothelial cells through interaction with the integrin a3v1, and abrogates angiogenic factor induced endothelial cell proliferation in vitro and angiogenesis in vivo independent of MMP inhibition. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 5-10ug/5ml dilution buffer for each mini-gel Immunohistochemistry: paraffin sections Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
