Toll-like receptors are highly conserved from Drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities. They are type I transmembrane signaling receptors which activate the innate immune system in response to pathogen invasion. So far, at least 13 TLR members have been identified. The secretory protein, MD2, associates with cell-surface bound TLR4 (CD284) on monocytes, B cells and T cells. TLR4 has been recognized as critical for host recognition of bacterial LPS in conjunction with MD2. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1ug/10e6 cells in 100ul Immunohistochemistry: paraffin sections Western Blot: 1-5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
