Alkaline phosphatase, tissue-nonspecific isozyme is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ALPL gene. There are at least four distinct but related alkaline phosphatases: intestinal, placental, placental-like, and liver/bone/kidney(tissue non-specific).
