CF dye alkyne reacts with azide to form 1,2,3-triazole by copper(I) catalyzed 1,3-dipolar Huisgen cycloaddition. It can also be used as a monomer to copolymerize with other monomers to form fluorescent polymers. CF dyes are Biotiums line of next-generation fluorescent dyes with advantages in brightness, photostability, and conjugate specificity compared to other fluorescent dyes. Deep-red fluorescent CF594 dye has excitation/emission at 593/614 nm.
