Peptide (NRIIERLNRVPAPPDV) corresponding to amino acids 701 to 716 of human IKKe/IKK-i (1,2). Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kB) is a ubiquitous transcription factor and an essential mediator of gene expression during activation of immune and inammatory responses. NF-kB mediates the expression of a great variety of genes in response to extracellular stimuli. NF-kB is associated with IkB proteins in the cell cytoplasm, which inhibit NF-kB activity. IkB is phosphorylated by IkB kinase (IKK) complex that contains IKKa, IKKb, and IKKg. A novel molecule in the IKK complex was recently identified and designated IKKe/IKK-i (1,2). IKKe is required for the activation of NF-kB by PMA and T cell receptors but not by TNFa and IL-1 (1). IKKe/IKK-i message is expressed in a variety of tissues and is inducible by TNFa, IL-1, and LPS (2). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 25% glycerol and store at -20C. May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
