SH2D1A is an inhibitor of the signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM) self-association. This protein is expressed at a high level in thymus and lung, with a lower level of expression in spleen and liver. Defects in SH2D1A are a cause of X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLPD) also known as Duncan disease. XLPD is characterized by a rare congenital immunodeficiency following Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:32,000 Western Blot: 0.2-0.6ug/ml, observed in human lymph node lysates on ~16kD bands Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
