Purified human Bone sialoprotein
Bone sialoprotein (BSP) is one of the major noncollagenous proteins in the extracellular matrix of bone. It is a phosphorylated glycoprotein with an MW ~70-80kD. The protein has been found in osteoblasts and osteocytes. BSP is synthesized and secreted by bone-, dentin- and cementum-forming cells. Diseases concerning the bone turnover, pathological bone alterations as well as the rapid increase of osteoporosis make it necessary to establish new markers. Bone sialoprotein is discussed as a potential serum marker for monitoring bone remodelling. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, RIA and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry: 1:2500 using 5um paraffin embedded sections from human fetal tibia, fetal calvaria and metastatic breast tumors to bone, with decalcification with 10% formic acid Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Secondary Antibodies: IHC I1904-43: IgG, X-Adsorbed (Biotin) Pab GtxRb I1904-40E: IgG, H&L (Biotin) Pab GtxRb I1904-46P: IgG, H&L (Biotin) Pab GtxRb Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt.
