Apoptosis is a form of cell death that permits the removal of damaged, senescent or unwanted cells in multicellular organisms, without damage to the cellular microenvironment. Survivin is a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) gene family, which encodes negative regulatory proteins that prevent apoptotic cell death. repeat (BIR) domains, but this gene encodes proteins with only a single BIR domain. Survivin appears to have an important role in regulating apoptosis at cell cycle checkpoint(s). Survivin expression is highly cell cycle-regulated, and is detectable in the nucleus selectively at the G2/M phase. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-10ug/ml (chemiluminescence) Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Stable for 12 months at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O or PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
