Survivin, otherwise known as TIAP/BIRC5, is a novel inhibitor of apoptosis (IAP) protein, and component of the chromosomal passenger complex, which plays a key role in the regulation of mitosis. Survivin is only expressed during the G2-M cell cycle phase, and is predominantly expressed in fetal tissues, and in many human cancers, including adenocarcinomas and high-grade lymphomas. The lack of survivin expression by normal non-malignant cells, makes survivin an important therapeutic target for cancer. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Peptide ELISA: 1:16,000 Western Blot: 0.01-0.5ug/ml, detects a band of ~18kD in MOLT4 cell lysates. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
