Synthetic peptide corresponding to the middle region of the human Syndecan 4.
Syndecans are heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs), which are cell-surface-associated proteins. These include Syndecans. Syndecans contain a small core protein with distinct functional domains to which are linked multiple glycosaminoglycan (GAG) chains, predominantly of the heparan sulfate variety. Syndecan synthesis is highly regulated and is dependent on both cell type and developmental state. Syndecans are involved in cell adhesion, tissue morphogenesis and differentiation and regulation of cell responsiveness to soluble growth-regulatory compounds. These functions are attributed primarily to the glycan moieties. Syndecans also interact with growth factors such as fibroblast growth factor and epidermal growth factor. Applications: Suitable for use in FLISA and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Controls: Human T47D, HEP-G2, NCI-H69, SCLC and JEG cells lysates. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4C in the dark. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4C for 12 months after receipt as an undiluted liquid. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
