Purified bovine microtubule-associated proteins. MW of Antigen: 45-68kD. Epitope: Middle of Tau. Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic.
Tau proteins are microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). Alternate splicing of tau mRNA and differential phosphorylation contribute to the heterogeneity of tau. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation and Western Blot. Not suitable for use in Imunohistochemistry. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunoprecipitation (Native verified): 2ug/mg protein lysate. Use Protein G. Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml for 2 hours at RT Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: IMR5 cells, Human T98G glioblastoma cells or Alzheimers disease brain tissue Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
