Tetraspanin-8 (TSPAN8), is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily. It is a cell surface 27-34kD protein with 4 transmembrane segments, and a large extracellular loop (LEL) domain from aa106-206. Both the N- and C-termini are intracellular. The protein is involved in cell motility, metastasis, cell proliferation and differentiation, and is over-expressed in different carcinomas including hepatocellular carcinoma and colon cancer. Human Tetraspanin-8 shares 70aa sequence identity with both mouse and rat TSPAN8. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 10ul labels 10e6 cells in CMT-93 mouse cell line Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
