TIMP1 belongs to the TIMP family. The proteins in this family are natural inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), a group of peptidases involved in degradation of the extracellular matrix. In addition to its inhibitory role against most of the known MMPs, the protein is able to promote cell proliferation in a wide range of cell types, and may also have an anti-apoptotic function. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry, Immunofluorescence and Indirect Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:50-1:100 ELISA: 1:1000 Indirect Flow Cytometry: 1:10-1:50 Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:50 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
