Immunogen: Synthetic peptide TLR3 15aa near the carboxy terminus of human TLR3 (UniProt O15455).
Description: Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are evolutionarily conserved pattern-recognition molecules resembling the toll proteins that mediate antimicrobial responses in Drosophila. These proteins recognize different microbial products during infection and serve as an important link between the innate and adaptive immune responses (1,2). The TLRs act through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TIRAP to activate various kinases and transcription factors (3) so the organism can respond to potential infection. TLR3 is known to recognize viral double-stranded (ds) RNA, a molecular pattern associated with viral infection (4). Recently it has been shown to recognize viruses such as Influenza A (5) and West Nile Virus and can mediate entry of at least West Nile Virus (6). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-2ugml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Daudi cell lysate Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
