A 16-aa peptide sequence, mapping near the C-terminus of human WNK-3 (1) synthesized, coupled to KLH
WNK3 (partial 1450-aa, chromosome Xp11.21-23) is a serine-threonine kinase with a catalytic domain which is ~93% homologous to that of hWNK1. The conserved catalytic lysine in subdomain II is replaced by a cysteine but another lysine residue in the glycine ribbon of the subdomain I confers the WNK3 kinase activity. Eleven out of 33 residues in the subdomains I and II of WNK3 are conserved in the 18 WNK-related kinases. The WNK3 gene is predominantly expressed in brain. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blotting. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000-1:5000 for neat serum and 1-10ug/ml for affinity pure using ECL. ELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100ng of control peptide/well. Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
